It was also in Swingers, right? In the slow-motion walking scene?

Superman

I saw no reason for all of the extra Superman info, so I deleted it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.117.154.106 (talk) 04:24, 27 February 2008 (UTC) The Superman info has come back. I'm deleting again. If anyone cares to explain why this belongs here I'd like to know.Oblivy (talk) 15:30, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move

Given that there are several articles about subjects named "Pick Up the Pieces", including an album and an EP of the same name, this needs moving to Pick Up the Pieces (song) to make way for a disambiguation page. Any objections?--Michig (talk) 16:53, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wording

"Its harmonic structure is not too difficult: the song features as an intro 4 measures of B-flat suspended (B-flat C F); afterwards in the theme 8 measures of Fm7 (F A-flat C E-flat), 2 measures of B-flat-major (B-flat D F), 4 measures of Fm7." "Not to difficult" is subjective, yes? I don't think it should be in here. Turbokoala (talk) 04:17, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sleazy

I don't have a source, but I'm under the impression that many people consider this song the sleaziest song ever written. Sleazy like a dirty 1970s bar seen in a Rocky movie, I suppose. Apple8800 (talk) 13:46, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Likewise without source, there's a persistent rumour that the pieces of the title are the Scottish word for
sandwiches
(from a piece of bread), and the shouted chorus are an exhortation to someone not to forget to collect the band's lunches.

Writers

The song was written by the whole band, and yet it says Roger Ball and Hamish Stuart in addition to AWB. I know this is what it says on the LP, but I think it should be changed to just Average White Band, because Ball and Stuart were both members of AWB. In Wikipedia, when names are put in addition to the band name, that implies that people outside of the band co-wrote the song. Maybe a little diddy could be put in the article saying that strangely, Ball and Stuart were named in addition to AWB in the writing credits, so as to explain the difference between the LP and Wikipedia article songwriting credits. Pick Up the Pieces (Average White Band song)Pick Up the Pieces (instrumental) – Or Pick Up the Pieces (composition). The current title seems precise, but I almost forget the name of the band. Also, I almost forget what the name of the song is. Aside from that, it's too precise to exactly type the article title. Shortening to either "instrumental" or "composition" makes a search easier. Also, there aren't any other notable instrumentals; other songs of the same name have lyrics. George Ho (talk) 18:27, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
