  MOS:CT also says "Prepositions containing four letters or fewer" shouldn't be capitalized unless they are the first word of a title. The MOS example "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" has the parenthetical part leading and it isn't a preposition. Local consensus can overrule MOS. Reidgreg (talk) 17:12, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply

  • I've tried looking into examples. I'd felt the MOS was talking about extended titles like
    Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb where these song titles seemed to me as more of a bracket situation, like text that's inserted for clarity. However, looking at Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground), Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma, and Emphasis! (On Parenthesis) I might have to reconsider. Reidgreg (talk) 00:42, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply

• Support. The passage in
  MOS:CT mentioned by Darkday seems to clinch the matter. The phrase in the parentheses is to be treated as a new title, which of course would start with a capital letter, even if the first word is a preposition.
