I thought this an article worth including, not just because its linked to from other article, but because RAF Castle Archdale did provide worthy assistance to the Allies during WWII. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiuserNI (talk • contribs) 18:06, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Closure
The RAF were using Castle Archdale into the 1950s; some anecdotal sources say 1957. Does anyone have the definitive date? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:28, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Route to Atlantic
A "lack of knowledge" question - but is this the air base that relied on the Irish Republic allowing RAF aircraft to overfly their territory, thereby significantly extending the patrol radius out into the Atlantic? If my understanding/recollection is correct, given a source, this should be in the article.ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 22:24, 30 November 2020 (UTC) (This was in the article already.)ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 23:01, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
