Not a personal essay

I don't agree this article is written like a personal reflection, personal essay, or argumentative essay. In response to the tag I have made some slight adjustments to the text, but the text describes the historical evolution of the idea of rate limitingness in metabolism for which there is a considerable literature spanning almost 80 years. The text is backed up by over 15 independent secondary sources. The prose is not argumentative. If the original tagger disagrees I would be more than happy to discuss this with them, and if there are actual issues, how we can resolve them. Rhodydog (talk) 18:37, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you. I don't think this reads like an essay, though I suppose people who haven't understood the principles of metabolic control analysis might think it does. Athel cb (talk) 08:55, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Supervised by Henrik Kacser

The article says (or did until today) that Joe Higgins's these was supervised by Henrik Kacser. Is there evidence for that, or is it a mistake? I would have guessed that Britton Chance would have been the supervisor but that's just a guess. Both Joe and Henrik were participants in the NATO meeting on the suvject in 1989 at Il Ciocco, and I don't recall any indication that they were close to one another. I'm not sure if it does say that. Can you point to in the right direction because you are correct Higgins was not supervised by Kacser but most likely by Britton Chance. Rhodydog (talk) 23:58, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I had a quick look at the history and I see you removed that statement. Not entirely sure how that got in there because, most definitely, Higgins was not supervised by Kacser. Thanks for spotting that. Rhodydog (talk) 00:01, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
