New Article

In writing this article, I have at times gone beyond the area of my greatest expertise. I expect I have made mistakes. If so, please feel free to correct or add to my article. Peterkingiron 19:18, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The new (unattributed) additions

The two new sections have serious NPOV issues. This article needed work anyway, but that new stuff just made matters worse. A revert is coming soon if that new stuff isn't cleaned up.BSMet94 02:48, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, you had your chance. Some anonymous person ruined a perfectly decent start on a section about lead refining, by bringing in a bunch of nonsense about DIY metal recycling. Recovery of metals from e-waste is first and foremost recycling, and may or may not involve refining. Plus the tone of the text (like a personal lecture) is not by any means encyclopedic. Plus e-waste recycling is usually after gold and copper, not lead. Then this person brings in all kinds of other extraneous stuff about lead in paint, EDTA, etc. which have nothing whatsoever to do with refining. Valid concerns they may be, but nothing to do with refining! Again, this article needs cleaning up and expansion into other metal refining processes. Hopefully someone can add some better info to it. I'll help eventually. BSMet94 04:58, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well-done! What you removed was essentially vandalism. Some of the stuff looked more like applied chemistry than metallurgy. Peterkingiron 12:07, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

I;m asking if we have any API 510 inspectos can tell us hwta he hsould do in the refinery? - Mohammad A. Bokhari Bokharima1

The above text was placed at the foot of the article, by the above user. I have removed it to here, which is where it belongs. Peterkingiron (talk) 16:33, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Precious metals refining was MERGEd into Refining (metallurgy)
-- 19 Nov 2008

Article merged: See old talk-page here for the MERGE discussion.

Note: the operative content of the Precious metals refining page was added to the Precious metals section of this page (

citations. But the poorly sourced and largely orphaned article did not support an independent existence, as per the MERGE discussion. N2e (talk) 17:56, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply

Edit

It's a little further than I know how to do, but could someone please fix all of the 'edits' that are on this page? A. Scholar (Nabu) (talk) 22:35, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm really not sure what causes that, but usually making an edit fixes the problem. I've just made an edit, and it looks fine now. Me, Myself & I (☮) (talk) 01:41, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
