Sourcing

Most of the sources used for this article are derived from one work. I find it hard to believe that this is the only work available for Reformed Scholasticism. Might we intersperse some other research in this article? Joshua Parker (talk) 18:02, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?

I just created an article at

Lutheran scholasticism are separate pages. Probably two articles could be sustained, but there are likely editors working in this area who have a better idea of what we should do. Srnec (talk) 03:31, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply

Hmm. I'm not sure. Whenever I read about these, they seem to be referring to the same thing. I guess we need to look at both articles and ask the question: Are they talking about the same thing or different things with overlap? If the former, they should be merged. If the latter, not. Though, I believe there can be a distinction. Reformed Orthodoxy reflects particular theological beliefs. Reformed Scholasticism refers to the particular method of doing theology. They are religiously different by going their intention based on their Christian denominational identity. And based of his article is clearly on Calvinist theological era, while the other was already pre-existing in this site; was on Eastern Christian movement to claimed on 'Reform' the Eastern Christian –majorly known like
Oriental Orthodox Churches– denominations, with Protestant elements. Which I really have no clue why his guy is confused, from my standpoint. Chad The Goatman (talk) 05:34, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply

And for Srnec, just please renamed it as Reform Orthodoxy (Calvinism) for oblivious reasons, as to preventing me from creating more 'unintentional' edit wars for a while. Or just ask the moderators of discussing if either or not, to renamed your page as from my proposal, will going to work. Chad The Goatman (talk) 05:34, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reformed scholasticism → Reformed orthodoxy – Better name, consistent with Lutheran orthodoxy. Present in the sources. Lagelander (talk) 18:20, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply

Weak support. There is no evidence presented as to why it is the better name. There have been books published in the last decade with both labels.[1][2][3][4] But this article is apparently about the era rather than the approach. StAnselm (talk) 19:02, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
