Brown Ribbon
I thought tha the brown ribbon was promoted by George Carlin.

I agree they should be merged; in fact, i didn't even know about the "Awareness Ribbon" article when i started adding to "Ribbon" (which already had some awareness ribbons listed) -- my bad!
I think the title "Awareness Ribbon" is more descriptive, so i would vote for using "Awareness Ribbon" as the base (target), and putting a link to it in the "Ribbon" article (source). I would leave "Ribbon" as an article about the textile material. If no one makes any objections in the next day or two, i'll start moving the text.

Which "90's"?
Near the end of the second section, right after a fair amount of historical information (with dates mentioned ranging from the 11th century to the 17th) is the phrase
an upsurge in the mid to late 90's
