World War Two

Siamese police involvement in World War Two is a subject beyond the intent and scope of this website. This is neither the place to mention police involvement in the war nor the place to refer to websites that discuss the war.

Suffice it to say that, generally, the Siamese police collaborated with the Japanese occupation forces.

There were incidents in which the Siamese police fought Japanese soldiers, as, for instance, when, late in the war, they refused to enforce an order from the local Japanese Imperial Army headquarters to supply corvee labor from the local population.

There were Siamese policemen who should have been prosecuted and hanged for war crimes against the local population and prisoners of war.

There were many instances of Siamese police fighting local Chinese resistance groups during and after the war. User:Fee Fai Fo Fum —Preceding undated comment was added at 01:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Policemens' death sentences

Policemen have been executed before 2012. In 2012, three policemen were sentenced to death for murdering a 17-year-old robbery suspect during Thaksin Shinawatra government's war on drugs.[1] They were released on bail on July 31, 2012.[2]

Gendarmerie

As the Royal Thai Police has a military training why not identify it as a Gendarmerie? Sevs17 (talk) 21:44, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
