Shi'ar/Aerie

I think Shi'ar is the name of the empire, and Aerie the name of the main conquering race with the avian features. Like, Deathbird and L'ilandra are both Aerie and Shi'ar (living in the Shi'ar empire) while others, such as Gladiator, Fang, and N'Rill'Irẽẽ, aren't Aerie, but they're still Shi'ar. They're just different races who live in the empire. Kinda how, like in Roman times, you could be Batavian and at the same time a Roman citizen, however, you weren't Latin. 62.194.121.100 12:06, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, I disagree. It has been stated in several issues that the SHI'AR are the birdlike species. It is written somewhere in a caption that 'the Shi'ar vied with Hepzibah's feline race for domination of the same star system.' And only recently, Lorna wondered 'What disguises would do for us? We're obviously not Shi'ar,' indicating specific outward characteristics for the Shi'ar as a species. As for the name 'Aerie', Deathbird once stated that she 'belongs to the Aerie, the royal nest of the Shi'ar'. If there should be confusion anywhere concerning this article, it's whether or not the name Aerie can be used for the species, not Shi'ar. 194.171.56.13 12:28, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You got it all wrong. The Aerie is definitely the bird-like species with the hollow bones and the feathers. How often has it been that Shi'ar officers shouted 'For the Aerie!' They do that out of regard for the species, which is called AERIE. It's like shouting 'For the good of mankind!' Also, Shi'ar sounds more like a name, derived from a place or an ancestor. Shi'ar is the people, but, especially in inter-galactic communities, a people is not limited to a species. 62.194.121.100 12:49, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained revert

Editor2020 recently made this unexplained revert of three minor changes I made to the article. Reverting edits without explanation is typically done only in cases where the edits are vandalism. None of my edits were vandalism. One was a minor style change (from "movie" to "film"), the other two were factual corrections. This edit corrected the release date of the film

That was an unintended revert. My apologies. Editor2020 (talk) 02:53, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
