Question
Ok. So how did an English district come to have a motto in Dutch? Morwen - Talk 13:11, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Translation
And is the motto's translation correct? If it had been 'Niets...' in modern Dutch, the translation would be the more recognisable "Nothing without work" which goes back to a Latin proverb. My Old Dutch is a bit limited, but I wonder if that isn't the right answer. In any case, what does 'not without work' mean if it isn't equivalent to 'nothing...'? Anyone help?
