some minor comments but otherwise a well-written article:

• ...they "couldn't top Reign in Blood and whatever they recorded would be compared to that album, he stressed they "had to slow down" which...: where is the closure for the first braces

That's one reason why we have the

contradict template: to point out (without references) any place where an article contradicts itself. For example, slowed-down tempos do NOT equal thrashing. Clearly someone on Wikipedia hasn't listened to any of the album.
