New Article

I think that the 4th dimensional coasters need their own page separate from the spinning coasters since they are none alike. Even RCDB doesn't have the two listed remotely under the same classification. (Coasterman1234 02:40, 23 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I think we need to better distinguish 4th dimension coasters from spinning mice coasters. Spinning mice coasters (Crazy Mouse, Euro Mir, etc.) are a completely different type of ride. WillMcC 18:27, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes 4th Dimension coasters must have an horizontal axis rotation, and in spinning roller coaster is vertical. I wrote the spanish version, and I write two articles, one for 4D coasters and oter for spinning coasters.--81.172.11.39 01:58, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, in addition, 4th dimension coasters do not spin freely, they are controlled by another set of wheels and an additional set of rails. It's not quite a 'Zipper' on rails as some say. dj_ansi 08:39, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, the new 4th Dimension roller coaster article is
here. It was split from this article some time ago. --Skylights76 (talk) 02:38, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply

Merge with X

I opposed the merging of this artice with the X roller coaster article. Instead, I think X should be referenced in the article, and vice versa. Since X is merely one example of a spinning coaster, merging the two would be like merging the McDonald's article with the fast food article. Dan

I agree, spinning roller coasters, and 4th dimension roller coasters are diferent type of rides. Please, "unmerge" it. In spanish we have two articles.--81.172.13.154 00:43, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree as well. The two Arrow Multi-dimension coasters (X & Eejanaika) are fully unique and should not be included in this article (a flat ride, or a coaster that is mass-copied should be included in a page like this but not the multi-dimensions). I agree that X should reference this article and vice-versa. (Coasterman1234 19:14, 13 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Other companies

A look at the list on RCDB shows that there are other companies making spinning coasters. Perhaps we ought to make the various sections company-neutral (e.g. "Inward-facing seats" and "Outward-facing seats" as possible section heads) and include the already-mentioned companies in the text as examples only. Maybe someone (I'm not saying me...necessarily) needs to go through the whole RCDB list, looking at the company names and the pictures, to get a handle on the various companies, configurations, and other aspects. Or maybe some nice website out there has done the work for us...--Skylights76 (talk) 10:11, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've reorganized the article according to layout type rather than manufacturer, and added references to other manufacturers. --Skylights76 (talk) 02:26, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
