I have just removed:

This assertion is not supported by the reference given and is contrary to the facts -- many very isolated lights did have families. The reference simply says that it was a term used for lights that did not have families in residence. . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk to me • contribs) 20:33, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
