The daughters of Hirohito, Akihito and Mikasa are missing in the genealogy diagram. This is inconsistent with the lower lines of the diagram, which include also female issue. And why is deceased Prince Takamado listed there, unlike the deceased sons of Emperor Taisho? Although the names are not generally used in Japan, would it be worth (for the benefit of non-Japanese readers) adding the names Yoshihito and Hirohito in brackets after the official names of the two former emperors? Thoughts? Grutness...wha? 01:06, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have amended the list because the list is the PRESENT line of succession which follows the line of succession as it is now under the current household law not the line of succession we imagine it is. Princesses cannot succeed to the throne unless the law is changed. Prince Fumihito will succeed his brother the emperor and he will be succeeded by his son Prince Hisahito. Aiko will probably marry a commoner and cease to be a member of the imperial household. Aetheling1125 (talk) 08:48, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In order to be encyclopedic, we HAVE to have the death dates of dead people. I know many were alive in 1947, but they are dead NOW and forever. This is not something that can change and leaving out the death dates gives the impression that they are still alive. Let's make things better, not just revert things automatically without thinking Arglebargle79 (talk) 12:22, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
