Alla tedesca

Is it true that "alla tedesca" means "in a German style?"--Stratford15 21:27, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Sorry you had to wait so long for a reply.

Comparison to Schumann 3rd

The author writes "Like Robert Schumann's Rhenish Symphony, the Third Symphony has five movements instead of the customary four in a suite-like formal layout, with a central slow movement flanked on either side by a scherzo." As far as i can tell, Tchaik's 3rd does not have a central slow movement flanked by scherzos. In fact it has 2 lyrical movements and 1 scherzo flanked by the outer movements. Not sure how the comparison is apt. And isn't the 4th movement of Schumann 3 NOT a scherzo? How about just "...has five movements instead of the customary four." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waterproof-breathable (talkcontribs) 04:55, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Low b-flat in flute

The third movement of this symphony at rehearsal letter B calls for a low b-flat in the flute. This looks like an error of Tchaikovsky's. How do performers deal with it? 209.159.248.94 (talk) 22:00, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
