Major rewrite
I've just saved a first cut at a major rewrite of this page. More work needs to be done, including (among others) the following:
- Some material needs to be moved here from the Philippine Commission page.
- More material needs to be added -- one example, the U.S. mission to Rome in 1902 and the purchase of friar lands. {Escalante, 2007) is a good source for much of tis material. -- Boracay Bill (talk) 07:15, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
