Earlier History

Can any one provide information on the earlier history of this company? I suspect that it developed from one of the important earlier London ironworking companies, going back into the 18th century, possibly Jukes Coulson & Co. - or am I thinking of a rival? Leamouth-built ships

Most of the ships built by this company have been placed in Category:Leamouth-built ships. However many of the later ones were built on the east bank of the Lea. I would suggest that these should be in Category:Canning Town-built ships or Category:West Ham-built ships - not sure what would be more suitable. Pterre (talk) 11:27, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have a great deal of information about the Hills family, which was the subject of my PhD. Most of what I have concerns Frank Clarke Hills, who was Chair or Thames Iron Works before his son Arnold. Hi Mary, are you she of Greenwich Marsh - The 300 years before the Dome? I'm sure we would all be very pleased to see any contributions you can add. Pterre (talk) 09:20, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
