No problem, have changed the formatting! Also changes some minor spelling mistakes and added a few extra plot details. Plus, the story has Valentin as the head of the Paris Police, instead of the head of the French secret police department, so i'll change it to that instead --131.111.216.187 (talk) 17:11, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dates & Publication?

When & where was the story first published? Many Wikipedia articles seem to be missing information about the "when" of things. In a later (I assume) story, The Eye of Apollo, which appears in the collection "The Innocence of Father Brown," along with The Blue Cross, Chesterton tells us that criminal turned detective Flambeau's name is M. Hercule. Is this a coincidence or is Hercule Poirot an homage to Chesterton, or vice versa? Agatha Christie's and Chesterton's writing times overlapped somewhat, but without dates it's hard to tell. There isn't date information in the main Father Brown article either. Ileanadu (talk) 23:56, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
