Plot Summary

Whoever thought that putting the plot in chronological order instead of the order of the films was a TOTAL DICKHEAD!! If Tarantino wanted the plot to be chronological, he would have edited the movies to be that way. Who are you to bastardize his work?!?! ASSHOLE!

This article pretty much details everything Beatrix does in the two movies. I feel that this makes it difficult to read, and difficult to create section headings. Also, this article gives little insight into her character. Does anyone agree? I think it could be remedied by drastically shortening the plot summary and adding information that goes beyond what you see in the movies. mdd4696 02:58, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article should be deleted, it's more or less a repeat of everything she does in the Kill Bill article. I'm only editing it to remove speculation by 68.59.232.145. -Gillean666 13:00, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the article to a redirect since it was comprised strictly of a plot summary, already present on the
Kill Bill page. --mdd4696 04:00, 24 November 2005 (UTC)[reply

The Beatrix_Kiddo page should have a reference to the Family Guy reference to Beatrix Kiddo. I mean the episode where they are watching TV and an add for "Trix" serial comes on and there are children eating it and a cartoon rabbit standing there next to them. One of the kids says "Silly wabbit, Trix are for kids". The rabbit says "You share!" then kills the children for the sweet sweet Trix. The movie quote itself is (of course) a reference to the 60s Trix commercial. What's it got to do with Kill Bill or Uma Thurmans character again?

It seems strange that every other major character from the movie has their own article, but not the title character, I would propose that we bring this one back. Fightindaman 19:21, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm proposing a mergeto, this page is just a rehash of the main Kill Bill page's plot summary. The same should be done for any other character pages. Ckessler 07:51, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plot or Spoiler Warnings

... Yea, throwing 'Should We Merge Beatrix Kiddo?' right at the top of the Kill Bill page is sort of a plot spoiler, don't you think? I mean, the entire article is a plot spoiler, not to mention the title. Oh wait, somebody did mention the title already.. JimmmyThePiep 23:26, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

tiger-crane style

it says shes an expert in "CRANE" style, however in the movie she says to pai mei that her style is "TIGER-crane". i edit it but someone changed it. here you can see the clip from the movie (just skip to 2:26):

Why hide the name?

Does anyone have a reference to the motivation for obscuring the name throughout part one? There are probably a lot of people who would like to know why.

  • Tarantino has given a number of different reasons for that. The one I like best is -

"I had "The Brides" name bleeped in the movie just so that I could put in the classroom rolecall scene. I always laugh when the teacher says "Mary Whorehouse", and that sweet little girl says "Here!" with a big ol' smile on her face." Also, if you freeze-frame the ticket, you can see her name printed on it.

Besides this, the article currently (12/12/2007) does not mention at all the fact that her name is concealed throughout the entire first film, and partway through the second, I believe. Where would be the best place to put this? —Andrei —Preceding comment was added at 01:59, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Related Topic: Intentionally misleading name.
The article also doesn't mention that the name Kiddo, itself, appears to have been intentionally misleading. Bill calls her Kiddo more than once before it's revealed that it's her real name. At first it seems to be his nickname for her, which makes sense since "kiddo" is a common diminutive nickname, along the lines of "sport" and "scout." I don't know what Tarantino's said on the topic but it seems like the censoring of her name as well as its misleading nature might both merit mention in the article. It seems more relevant to me regarding her character than another plot summary, too. Verminjerky (talk) 19:59, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Created by Q&U?

What's with the "Based on the character of 'The Bride' created by Q&U" business in the closing credits of both films? I assume the Q is for Quentin, is the U for Uma? Is there some pre-existing story prefiguring the films or what?

Yes, it does stand for that and there is a history. If you watch the "Making Of" featurette on Vol 1 Tarantino explains that the character of The Bride was a collaboration of both his and Uma's while they were working on Pulp Fiction. He also goes on to explain that the opening scenes of Vol 1 were completely Uma's idea. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.130.234.250 (talk) 07:57, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not the Brides sword?

I'm not positive, but I could've sworn that Bill's katana had the devil face on it, I thought the Brides sword had a sycamore leaf on the scabbard. If so, the sword picture is labeled wrong.

Bad reader or missing scene?

Where's the pregnancy test scene shown near the end of the second movie? It was one of my favorites. I was trying to find out the name of Kiddo's last mark. The Kill Bill Wikia only contains the first name of the assassin, Karen but lists her boss, "a woman."

"Congratulations."

Questions?

1. How does Beatrix Kiddo know its been 4 years after come? 2. In Vol. 2 when she's being buried alive, does she cry for real or is she faking it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yeshodhan (talkcontribs) 18:00, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:COMMONNAME, this character is almost exclusively referred to as "The Bride", and very few would go here searching for Beatrix Kiddo. Add on the Google Search differences (3.9 million for "the bride kill bill", 416,000 for "beatrix kiddo") and I think this is fairly cut-and-dry. Sock (tock talk) 22:22, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply

Dealing with "in-universe" concerns

I've added the section on "Creation" to try to address the "in-universe" flag. The bulk of the article, though, is still an in-universe plot summary. Thoughts? AngelaVietto (talk) 15:08, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
