Regarding adaptations: I distinctly remember seeing a television adaptation of "The Country of the Blind" when I was younger. This would have probably been in the 60's. I've found this reference to a TV script entitled "Strange Valley" for the Favorite Story series. The script is dated 1954 but there are no broadcast dates given. I'm not sure if this is what you saw. --Bruce1ee^talk 15:01, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Country of the Blind is also the title of a poem by CS Lewis, published in Punch (September 12, 1951) under the pseudonym Nat Whilk.DMSBel (talk) 12:22, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It would be interesting to see some comments as to how the two stories interrelate. Why does the plot summary say Nunez gets "trapped in the mountains" and dies at the end of the story? I've read the ending several times and it simply says that he escapes by climbing out of the valley and rests on a ledge.
