Title

Why is this listed as "The First Great Train Robbery"? I understand it was the original title, but most releases (and all home video releases) use "The Great Train Robbery". Following Wikipedia policy on the most common name, this article should be moved. 128.151.71.16 (talk) 17:13, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I saw this movie yesterday night on TV and the title shown was "The Great Train Robbery". Besides, after we click on the link for the film on IMDb here, there we see its poster with the name "The Great Train Robbery" stylized as logo-like train. Paultx (talk) 15:08, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Connery Stunt Work

I'm surprised that not much mention is made of Connery's incredible stunt-work on top of the train. I doubt they would have let him do that if it were filmed in America. Does anyone have any insight into how he was allowed(?) or persuaded(?) to do that scene? Any possibility that it was just a double with a very good likeness to Connery? The train-top scene is truly one of the most exhilarating shots in all action films and certainly more believable than anything Connery did in all the Bond films. The actor is very clearly near certain death in several instances and is one of the most harrowing stunts ever filmed. Gspong (talk) 14:02, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Crystal Palace

There is a brief scene where Sean Connery is at the Crystal Palace, with a firework display going on. I've just discovered that there were regular firework displays held there, called "Brock's Benefits". (The broadside of the massive 7-turreted World War One battleship HMS Agincourt was likened by an eyewitness to a Brock's Benefit, so I had to look up what it was). I guess we'd need a source unless it can be slipped into the plot summary. I rather enjoy long-forgotten cultural references in old films .... Paulturtle (talk) 00:56, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
