Release date

This film had its world premiere on March 7 1957. The BFI is wrong in calling it a 1956 film. A film is dated by the date of its opening, not the year it was made.Ambak51 (talk) 12:09, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Where's your
source? How do you know BFI is incorrect? Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 12:47, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply

The source is newspaper advertising of the time. The Times online archive 3/7/57, page two. I have now checked the BBFC website and this film was certified on 9 January 1957, so could not have been shown to the public before that date.Ambak51 (talk) 14:48, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Great. Now that there's a
WP:RS it has been changed. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 17:23, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply

Well, at least the year is now correct. However, the BBFC classification date is not the release date. The film opened to the public on March 7th 1957 as noted above. Frankly I cannot be bothered to pusue this any further, so Wikipedia can continue its reputation for innacuracyAmbak51 (talk) 12:39, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's as good as its editors, so if you can't provide
WP:V, then it's as good as you... Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 13:46, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply

Soundtrack

The songs were released on a 7" 45 - Parlophone GEPO 8604. I have an Australian pressing with the original picture sleeve. --TrogWoolley (talk) 14:06, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
