Refrain

The second line often sung as "and she is despised by the squad", or for the ornithologically inclined, "by the squab". Pustelnik (talk) 22:34, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Published Versions section is off key

This section needs work or needs to be deleted. Except for the two bullet points at the bottom, it's content is not relevant to the section heading. It seems to entirely misunderstand the presentation in the first section, which is well done. And it lacks objectivity. I suggest deleting it, except for the two bullet points. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcaisse (talkcontribs) 17:01, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pat Boone also recorded The Great Speckled Bird. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IraPia (talkcontribs) 20:03, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Periodical

"The Great Speckled Bird" (newspaper) is also the name of an alternative newspaper or magazine, once considered an important underground source in some circles. Totally unrelated to the song, but probably named after it, rather than the Bible ref. Disambig page? Hatnote? Rags (talk) 15:26, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
