The production section needs an addition. It claims the film was shot in England with location shoots at Cornwall. Well the Tortuga's Bay shots are certainly not Cornwall. Likewise there absolutely certainly were location shoots in Scotland. In particular at Glencoe and Ardelve on the West Highlands of Scotland. However the most glaringly obvious evidence that this film had location filming in Scotland is the use of Eilean Donan Castle as Durrisdeer Castle. Eilean Donan Castle features as the title plate for the opening credits, however the most extensive filming of Eilean Donan are the external shots of the castle and bridge used in the climax of the film. This should not need a source or reference as it is obvious if you watch the film. The scenes of the mustering of the Jacobite army at Glenfinnan and the raising of the prince's standard look to me as if they are taken from the 1948 film
