Infobox

  • Please add an alt in the parameter of the same name for the single image cover
  • Remove the flatlist from the "Label" parameter as there is one label, so it is unnecessary and not needed

Lead

Paragraph 1

  • Reword first sentence to ""The Obvious Child" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Paul Simon." please
  • Instead of linking "single", you should link "lead single"
  • "released on Warner Bros. Records." --> "released by Warner Bros. Records."

Paragraph 2

  • "The single—released in September 1990—performed well on charts worldwide." --> "The single, released in September 1990, was commercially successful, performing well on charts worldwide."

Background

  • Link "Warner Bros." since it's the first mention of the company in the article, minus the lead of course
  • Link "The Rhythm of the Streets" since it's the first mention of the album in the article, minus the lead

Chart performance

Paragraph 1

  • Add "well" after "performed" in the lead-in sentence please

Live performances

  • If I were you, I would likely combine this section and "In popular culture" into one larger section titled "Promotion and use in media" or something along those lines, since one to two sentences/statements per section is quite small
  • Any other things you can add here? Any reviews regarding his SNL performance or such?

In popular culture

  • That's cool! A movie is named after this song! Do you think more could be said in this section, since, like I said, there is an entire movie named due to this song?

Charts

  • The "US Album Rock Tracks" chart should be placed above "US Modern Rock Tracks" for alphabetization purposes

References

  • Remember, you only need one link per article to a reference's website, publication, or work, so secondary and so on links are unnecessary and not needed:
  • Ref #10 – Remove the link to "RPM (Ottawa: Library and Archives Canada" please
  • Ref #11 – Remove the link to "RPM (Ottawa: Library and Archives Canada" please
  • Ref #13 – Remove the link to "UK Singles Chart" please

External links

  • Add category "1990 songs" here too please

End of GA Review:

Absolutely great article–short and sweet. However, some changes need to be made before passing so I'll place it on hold for seven days for these changes to occur. Good luck! Cheers, Carbrera (talk) 17:05, 5 June 2016 (UTC).[reply]

Thanks for the great review. I implemented all your changes except for the one on Ref #13 -- that's part of the formatting inside the chart box. Saginaw-hitchhiker (talk) 18:13, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
My bad! I'll review your changes now. Thanks for the quick response, it is very welcomed in my current schedule! Cheers, Carbrera (talk) 18:20, 5 June 2016 (UTC).[reply]
Looks great! Will be passing now. Cheers, Carbrera (talk) 18:24, 5 June 2016 (UTC).[reply]

"titled the film with hope that"

This is barely literate English. Is this someone's idea of encyclopaedese? What is wrong with a natural turn of phrase such as he chose the title hoping that... 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:D816:867D:55D1:6622 (talk) 17:32, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
