Snake ID

A major discrepancy of the painting is the snake ID - that's clearly a boa constrictor, native to South America and non-venomous. Has anyone addressed this? Aside from the obvious fact of pointing out the error, it raises the question of why the artist included that particular snake (which is depicted with sufficient clarity to even render tentative subspecies ID of a Peruvian boa. Did they complete the painting outside of Asia and use a museum specimen for inspiration? Could be an interesting angle. 130.101.99.126 (talk) 12:42, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
