Plot

I had to remove most of the plot because it was a copyright violation, here's what wasn't:

The story opens in Paris at a masquerade ball where the unhappy Elena (Greta Garbo) meets Manuel Robledo (Antonio Moreno), an Argentine engineer.

The next day when he goes to visit his friend, Marques De Torre Bianca (Armand Kaliz), Robledo is stunned to learn that his wife happens to be Elena.

Elena (Greta Garbo) and Manuel Robledo (Antonio Moreno) in The Temptress in 1926

At a dinner party, Fontenoy (Marc MacDermott), a middle-aged

banker allowed by Bianca to have Elena be his mistress in order for them to be financially secure, distracts the guests by making a startling speech around the table on how Elena, the temptress, has ruined his life and blames her for his financial ruin. As he drains his glass he collapses at the table after taking his drink to which he had added a powdered poison
.

In an alternate ending, Robledo spots Elena while at an awards ceremony and the two reconcile.[1] Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 01:16, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in The Temptress

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Temptress's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Osborne":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 19:37, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
