I am explaining here why I once again removed "being certified Platinum" from the sentence, "In addition to it's high opening week sales, "The Time of My Life" showed strong sales longevity, and has passed the million mark in digital sales, being certified Platinum."

From the source given, David Cook Official, one of the six headlines of the press release is "IDOL SINGLE “THE TIME OF MY LIFE” HAS BEEN CERTIFIED PLATINUM WITH OVER 1 MILLION TRACKS SOLD." But in the body of the press release it states "American Idol single “The Time Of My Life” (which is featured as a bonus track on David Cook) has reached platinum status with over 1 million tracks sold." Those are two different statements, the first that RIAA has certified the single Platinum and the second that the single has sold over a million tracks but not yet been certified by RIAA. According to the RIAA search page, the single has not yet been certified. Unless a reliable, third-party, published source is found stating that the single has been certified Platinum by the RIAA, it should not be stated in the article. A former version of the article stated that this was the first American Idol winning single to enter the chart. I removed this, as Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven" also entered back in 2005.
