Article needs desperate rewrite and many citations

The creators of the Wizard program appear to have missed the point of Wikipedia. It is not to promote their show, it is to describe their show in an objective manner. Letters "poured in" (citation needed), "Adults scoured their towns and cities collecting signatures" (citation needed), "A continually instant hit" (the citation links to a fan page with some fan letters on it). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.136.14.173 (talk) 10:00, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies for not having the time available in the past 7 months to address these issues sooner. Just to clarify, "the creators of The Wizard" did not write any part, nor have they ever edited, this article. I wrote the entire article and synopses after studying the episodes, news stories, fan letters and petitions past and present, viewing the series with new audiences, speaking to those involved, etc. The portion covering the Save The Wizard campaign is about a very important piece of the series' history. Yes, it really happened that way. I will gladly add the requested citations. If there are any guidelines as to how many fan letters/petitions per webpage constitute enough to meet the citation requirements to prove historical fact, please let me know. I will certainly keep looking through the guidelines for this information. One last item: I encourage everyone who adds a comment on Wikipedia to take the time to sign their comments with pride. And, remember to add a new comment to the bottom of the page rather than the top so it isn't overlooked. See Wikipedia:Talk_page_layout Thank you!! Baywatch Tribute Clarification and Move

After speaking with the writers of "The Wizard" and "Baywatch", it has come to my attention that the naming of Ed Gale's character in the "Baywatch" episode "Shortsighted" was only meant to be an additional tribute to David Rappaport. This character was never meant to be a resurrection of "The Wizard" or a recasting of "The Wizard"s Simon McKay. This was an assumption made by Wizard fans in the 1990's, which then turned into a myth.

I did not rewrite the entire entry, only moved it to David Rappaport's entry, and made minor adjustments.

Tense Clarification and New STW Section

This evening I have corrected at least 1 incorrect tense in the description of The Wizard. This series may have been cancelled at the end of the first season, but it does exist. To fans who have only just been introduced to the series, The Wizard exists in the present tense. Events in the creating, writing, and filming of the first season of the series did happen in the past, but the video exists in the present.

I have also added a section recording the original 1987 campaign to save The Wizard from cancellation. I have added many citations to the section, as well as citations to the series description at the top of the article. I will be checking in to learn more about the Wiki Television project, and to find out if any further citations are needed to keep this important part of The Wizard's history in the article.

Please use my talk page if you have any questions or require further information. Thank you!!

Main character

Thought it might be nice to mention that the main character was a dwarf. If someone reads the artical, and doesn't bother to go to the actors profile, they won't know. Herogamer (talk) 17:50, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
