Token Economy in regards to cryptocurrencies?

How should we approach the upcoming information regarding cryptocurrency tokens and the concept of "economy" that it creates? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.233.22.234 (talk) 05:50, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

untitled

I can't recall the name of the book or its authors, and I can't find it in my notes. I'll look it up and get that information into the article. Robert Paveza 15:48, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should this article really be listed among the chief economic systems of the world? It appears to refer to a single one-year psychological study. --Kris Schnee 20:24, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposing a thorough revision

I'm willing to make a thorough revision of this page. I wrote the Dutch page (see here. Problem is my English. If you don't mind to make corrections, I'll do the revision.--Queeste (talk) 15:51, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Originator

I was cross-referencing this article to study for an exam and I'm a bit disappointed -- may someone please add the originator/theorist behind token economy (if any)? It's a question on my exam and it would be quite helpful for future sociology students. Thank you :) 94.159.205.213 (talk) 14:44, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, but it's not that simple. Token economy is operant conditioning using second order reinforcers. The founding father of this is Skinner. Next, already in the late 1930's studies on token reinforcement appeared (men and animals). The first TE, bearing that name, started in 1961. So you could say Ayllon and Azrin are the objective founders. This I added. But even then, Staats, another big behavioral researcher, claims he's the founder of the token economy. He did research on token reinforcement with choice of back-up reinforcers and certainly helped developing the method and theory, but he did not use the name TE (at least there's no objective proof of that). A bit complicated as you see. Best--Queeste (talk) 16:40, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Effectiveness?

There's not really any information on how effective token economies are as a treatment system. Gizmoguy (talk) 13:46, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
