I can't say for sure (so this is a low-value reply! ;-). But some of them were painted in such a way they looked like they had a plastic coating, while in fact still being steel underneath. Could that be what you're thinking of? – Kieran T ^(talk) 13:16, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not a Triumph colour of which I am aware. You may have either "Conifer" or "Laurel".

I am surprised there is no reference here to the 4 door Triumph Herald estate. My mother owned a 4 door Triumph Herald estate in the 1970s. One of the reasons I remember the car so well was because of just how hard it was, for me at least as I was then a small child with small hands, to open the back side doors; they had a stiff, very counterintuitive and complicated lever mechanism to open the doors with and so often my infuriated mother would have to open the door for me, to let me out.
