And another note, since this has caused some confusion and an erroneous move that had to be undone. The "(MLK Song)" is part of the song's title. It's not a Wikipedia disambiguation phrase, although it may look sort of like one (although in that case, the "S" wouldn't be capitalized and it would be attributed to Griffin not King). The form of this article name is no different than those for many other songs with parentheses in their titles, such as (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction or I Want You (She's So Heavy) or I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch) or Shake Me, Wake Me (When It's Over) and so on. I reworded some of the discussion of the song, but see plenty of claims about "highly rated" Idol Charity performance (probably true), and "well-documented Clarkson record label battle" (huh?) Please, provide references, and towards the end of the end of the article, it appeared to be somewhat more about Clarkson than the author, or the song. Please look for what may appear as POV- which I suspect User Wasted Time is cleaning.. Just my thoughts, so please, just look over some of the statements here- no offense meant!--leahtwosaints (talk) 18:43, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The existing cites supported Clarkson's record label battles and American Idol being highly-rated, but I've added extra footnotes to make that clear. (Idol Gives Back was essentially just a special-purpose episode of the regular Wednesday results show; viewers didn't know nobody would be voted off that week, so ratings were pretty typical, meaning the highest of any show on American TV.) If you aren't familiar with the struggles in Clarkson's career, read the My December article. As for the article being too much about Clarkson, please realize that many, many, many more people have seen Clarkson perform the song than ever saw or heard Griffin perform it. Thus the description of why and how Clarkson came to do a song that on the surface isn't her usual genre is quite relevant to the article (and partly explains why she can't get along with record companies). If there's anything else that you specifically think is slanted in the article, please say what it is.
