Does it have a particular reason that the outer product is not listed here? Dopexxx (talk) 15:23, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

History behind scaler quantities (vector algebra war.)

Wanting to add in some historical content in relation to different mathematicians footprints on vector multiplication. Example here would be William Kingdon Clifford, just to name one. Any insight on the matter would be appreciated, this will be for a college physics assignment.CStark10 (talk) 21:16, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Image in the Article has a typo and an incorrect result.

[1, 0, 2] ⋅ [3, -1, 4] = 11, not -5. JackWitherell (talk) 00:51, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

revamping this article

Reading the list of vector multiplication articles, it seems as if it was written by someone who only knows what dot and scalar products are, with random generalizations that don't fit the examples.

The sections on dot and scalar products have quite a bit of unnecessary verbose exposition attached to them, which is 'missing' in the other links. The generalization of a dot product is listed as "a bilinear product", which is odd because it also applies to the cross product despite being written as if it contrasts with it.

Outside of those mounds of text, I seem to see a few other oddities:

The inclusion of 'multiple cross products', considering that it is not a new operation and doesn't even have its own article.

The inclusion of 'triple products', as it also does not refer to a specific thing.

The "Applications" section is, in my opinion, completely superfluous, because the article is one step removed from a disambiguation page.

i'll try and turn these into edits later, it's my first time and it would be nice if I could get some go-ahead. SergeLangFan (talk) 16:47, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Be
WP:BOLD, you don't need the pre-approval of other editors. I'm not exactly sure which articles you are proposing to change, or what change you're proposing, but I agree with your assessment in general. Do keep in mind that the audience for these pages is going to trend more towards high schoolers and undergrads than professional mathematicians. Apocheir (talk) 18:35, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply
