"See the Vast Collection of Ancient Sources"

That's a fairly non-specific reference? The book referred to is just an essay, "A medical historical dissertation on the helleborism of the ancients", which appears in "Lesser Writings of Samuel Hahneman" see eg [1]. Para 114 of the essay (which cites Pliny and Strabo) most closely corresponds to the text here. Also, Hahneman said he he didn't know what the oval seeds came from, but suggests erigeron (seaside daisy) or senecio (ragwort) - he makes no mention of reseda. It looks like that suggestion comes from another reference or is unsourced? Anyway it would improve this reference to just cite the Hahneman article in translation and/or directly cite eg Pliny. It would probably be better to mention that this is a strong emetic too, since thats what SH actually says. Bazzargh (talk) 00:11, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Previous version better

The other day User:Zefr took out a lot of information and references from this article (because I said that Veratrum album was medicinal on Talk:Resveratrol). Consult the former version to see this information on the history and past uses. I know there's no point in reverting his edit. Eric Kvaalen (talk) 06:58, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
