The section name has been changed to "Stream gardens" and is useful for information about oxygenation and more text about flowing water could be added, but the rather absurd and irrelevant pictures of rivers remain. 72.179.53.2 (talk) 01:26, 21 June 2012 (UTC) Eric[reply]

Some people make an alligator, a snapping turtle or some other large and long-lived creature the central feature of their water garden, which was called a fishpond when I was growing up, and I knew of at least three alligators in fishponds in the S. F. Bay Area. Water gardens have practically unlimited possibilities if one wants to create a variety of habitats for plants and animals in a limited space. Tree frogs (Hyla cinerea) like cattails. Some kinds of salamanders like to climb out and hide in wet rocks, if they are available. This article is a disappointment in a way, because the advertising has polluted it. There was a proposed split of the 'Types of water features' section to the water feature article. I didn't see a discussion, and seemed like a logical change. I moved the list to the water feature page, pulled a description for this page, and renamed the section to 'water features'. Feel free to adjust as needed.
