I do not know what happened in 1946; there may have been some changes in Barbour Gymnasium. I am certain, however, that Barbour was demolished at the same time as Waterman. My father worked at Waterman and I belonged to a student club that used Barbour until that time. There was a short elevated track above Barbour Gymnasium as well. There were tennis courts for women west of the building built near the time it opened. But they were eventually closed before the old Chemistry Building was built. Waterman was used for registration at least through the 1960s. The one official who is still alive who can testify to this is Dr. Rodney J. Grambeau a retired faculty member of Kinesiology. There were also articles in the Ann Arbor News and Michigan Daily at the time of the demolition. The Bentley Library has articles about early use of the buildings (such as the tennis courts)
