I will review this soon, as it is the oldest songs GAN unreviewed that is eligible for me --K. Peake 16:41, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

  • Remove the genre since that is not sourced
  • "from Pop Smoke's" → "from the former of the three's"
  • "who all have the real names of" → "who have the respective real names of"
  •  Not done you should have done this, like you did in the body --K. Peake 07:04, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The track was produced by" → "It was produced by"
  • The first para is too short at the moment; mention Mustard passing the song on to Pop Smoke at the end of it since that is notable
  • "It is an R&B track that samples" → ""West Coast Shit" interpolates" with the target, and I will explain these switches later in the review
  • "In the lyrics," → "In the lyrics of the song," because otherwise it sounds like you are referencing the interpretation part
  • ""West Coast Shit" received" → "The song received"
  • ""West Coast Shit" reached number 65" → "the song reached number 65"
  • "chart. The song also reached" → "chart, while it further peaked at" and remove the France position because that's too low to be notable here

Background and recording

  • "could not sleep so he and his team went" → "could not sleep, and him and his team went" because the source does not directly call the lack of sleep the reason
  • "next room. Pop Smoke and his team entered their room and started" → "next room, which they entered to start" since the sentences are too short on their own
  • "it was one of the first that Pop Smoke made with him made." → ""West Coast Shit" was one of the first that Pop Smoke made with him."
  • "in Paris. The two played" → "in Paris, with the two playing" since the sentences need merging per my earlier comment
  • "and didn't know how" → "and didn't properly know how" per the source
  • "asked him if they" → "asked Mustard if they" due to this being a new para
  • "and would talk" → "that would talk"
  • "to record his part. Tyga recorded his part" → "to record his part; Tyga recorded the part" per my earlier comment
  • ":West Coast Shit" was his type of music, and" → ""West Coast Shit" is his type of music, which is why he"
  • Remove the part about fans criticizing because that is not notable or sourced

Not done It is sourced and is definitely notable.

Can you tell me where the source mentions it for both of them, as I must have missed something? --K. Peake 07:04, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Kyle Peake What HipHopDX says: "Tyga’s appearance on “West Coast Shit” and Karol G’s contribution to “Enjoy Yourself” have caught a significant amount of flack on social media." [1]
  • "from February 2020 showing" → "from February 2020, showing"
  • Wikilink Karol G in the last sentence, as the previous will have been removed

Writing and composition

  • "who all have the real names of" → "who have the respective real names of"
  • [6] does not source the song being R&B, only the interpretation so remove this genre
  • "The song prominently samples" → ""West Coast Shit" prominently interpolates" per the source
  • You should mention at the end of background that it interpolates "Shake That Monkey", standing as one of several tracks from Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon to utilize early 2000s songs. You can still mention in the following section, as this will be giving more detail by mentioning the interpretation being of the lyrics so repetition is fine.

Not done it's perfectly fine in the music secion.

I guess that is true, but pipe interpolates to Interpolation (popular music) and change sample to utilize per it and interpolation not being the same thing. --K. Peake 07:04, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "M.T. Richards for
    Consequence of Sound
    , observed that Pop Smoke"

Release and reception

  •  Not done I meant put the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs ref first, then Canadian Hot 100 --K. Peake 07:04, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Credits and personnel

  • Good

Charts

  • Good

References

  • Copyvio score looks decent at 37.5%
  • Make sure all of these are archived by using the tool
  • HipHopDXUrban Islandz on ref 2, but is this really a reliable source since the about page mentions anyone being able to sign up to be a contributor?
  • Cite the proper URL for ref 13 instead of the one with an amp
  •  Not done I am referring to this

Final comments and verdict

  •  On hold until all of the issues are fixed, which shouldn't be long for this short article! --K. Peake 17:32, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Ultimate Boss You still need to change the part about names in the lead and fix the archive for Atlantic. --K. Peake 08:09, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Ultimate Boss  Pass, but I added the archive for you since I presume you must have misunderstood my instructions there; the archive has to be one of the original URL. --K. Peake 08:57, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
