History?

Anything known on the history of wine lists? When & why it started to have lists of dishes and wine separated.. --> to be put in the article.. -- 80.145.198.128 (talk) 18:34, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The only history I could find is what I wrote in the 3rd paragraph about Egyptian times. ~

Yes thx Amatulic but I am on search for some information for german language and there/here a "Weinkarte" is expressively not a cellar's inventory list (this is named "Weinbestand"/ Bestandsliste/=Inventory list) but a list of wine offers paired with dishes and showing costs in a restaurant. :-) Merci. So I remain searching first proven pairings for a restaurant/pub use - wines paired with costs. There also exist special wine lists which don't show the prices of wines - to the lady. And there are some VERY! special lists in some clubs which show the lady triple the price the mister will have to pay - for impressing the lady.. ;-) .. (no source available - once read in a magazine in the 1970ies) -- 80.145.198.128 (talk) 00:22, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you're interested in wine pairing, then see the article on
wine and food matching
.
It would be good to find sources for the things you've seen. Last year there was a controversy about the magazine
