More info?

Is it possible to have more information on this artcile? The earlier Cup finals have no mention about the goal scorers. Does anyone know where to access this information? --Siva1979Talk to me 15:01, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to combine the results for Everton L.F.C. and Leasowe Pacific in the table. As is confirmed in this BBC article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/women/8656505.stm , this is the same team by different names. A precedent for this change is the men's FA Cup article, in which The Wednesday and Sheffield Wednesday are also combined in the summary of results. Southampton Red Star/Saints are the same team too (but not, I don't think, the same as the original Southampton). As are Knowsley and Liverpool. You could also make a case for Croydon and Charlton Athletic being one and the same... Like many women's football articles on here this page needs work. Stewarton Thistle and Lee's Ladies (first two runners up) are both the same team as well - although they've since turned into Kilmarnock Ladies (which is about 10 minutes' drive from Stewarton where they started). Bandanamerchant (talk) 22:28, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name: FA women's cup, or Women's FA cup

The FA website http://www.thefa.com/competitions/womens/the-sse-womens-fa-cup refers to this competition as the "SSE Women's FA Cup". Is there any source for the FA Women's cup or FA Women's Challenge Cup? If not the page should be moved to "Women's FA Cup", as per naming conventions Zeimusu | Talk page 13:33, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

One finds both versions used by the big sources like BBC etc, don't really know which is more prominent, guess FA Women's Cup. The Challenge Cup on the other hand is only used in the official regulations once, I haven't seen that picked up. -Koppapa (talk) 07:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The FA link given above states the full name of the competition as the "Football Association Women's Challenge Cup", which is logically shortened to FA Women's Cup à la the FA Cup, officially the "Football Association Challenge Cup". This is supported by the logo shown in the infobox of our article. The reordering of the words in the current (sponsored) title is somewhat baffling, to be honest. I would tend to treat it as being part of a temporary sponsored name, rather than the "proper" name which we would use for the article title. BBC use "FA Women's Cup" in fixture lists, as here.
