Khirbet Zuheiliqah, a candidate location for Ziklag, is described as NW of Beersheba and SSE of Gaza. However, examination of the map indicates that these vectors do not intersect. If the Gaza vector had been entered in error, and was in fact ESE, the intersection would be at Tel Sera, the location of another Ziklag candidate. This is located where a river forks, and hence is fertile and defensible. This would hence be a suitable place for King Achish of Gath to give to David (1 Samuel 27:6), and on the borders of Philistia and Judah. Khirbet Zuheiliqah is not noted on modern maps and could have been the name for the area in which Tel Sera is located. This supports Tel Sera's claim to be the site of David's settlement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Epistle1 (talkcontribs) 15:11, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
