Tchintabaraden (var. Tchin-Tabaraden, Tchin Tabaraden) is a town and
Abalagh in 1985. In the neighboring oasis of In-Gall, the Cure Salee
, or "the festival of the nomads", is held annually.
The name means "valley of the young girls".[1] It was so named due to the former practice of all of the young women and girls going to the large well in town to draw water daily. With running water, this is no longer a needed ritual.[citation needed]
As of 2012, it had a population of 79,889.[2]
