- ALT1 is far more interesting than the original hook, IMO. Perhaps another hook that is both interesting and more accessible to a non-medical audience such as:

Article is new enough (recent GA), long enough, and well written. ATL1 is verified with inline reference. Agree with LT910001 that original hook is not very interesting, and ALT2 is questionable as the article says that early writers "used the term to refer to both the cervix and the internal uterine orifice".
