Dhian Singh Shah Sikandar (born November 16, 1938) is a prolific Punjabi author, researcher, editor, and teacher. He has made significant contributions to the field of Punjabi literature through his extensive published works, research on the Dohra poetic form, and dedication to promoting Punjabi language and culture.

Early Life and Education

Dhian Singh Shah Sikandar was born on November 16, 1938, in Mehtabpur, Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, India. His native village was Khoje Pur, Gurdaspur district. He was the eldest of six siblings and son of Sardar Munsha Singh and Srimati Swaran Kaur.

He started his career as a drawing master at the young age of 16. Furthermore, he continued to teach for over 42 years, possibly setting a record for the longest serving drawing master. While teaching, he pursued his academic ambitions and earned a Gyani , followed by an MA in Punjabi and a B. Ed.

In November 1996, Dhian Singh Shah Sikandar retired from teaching and dedicated himself full-time to his literary pursuits. He became known as a prolific author, researcher, and editor. His published works include:
