Sorry I've been away from wikipedia for a while I guess you could say. Most of the sources for the article are freely available online. The Driggs thesis can be ordered though proquest

Here I'd really suggest google books, there are several old books that are just encyclopedias of people, and I remember quite a few of them being soldiers.

I usually concentrate on politics, I would greatly appreciate you flushing out the militia history. I know the article is about a supposed "war" and yet there isn't much discussion about troops and battles and things. I know one thing that bothers me is that the Baxter men referred to themselves as "the Hallie Riflers" and the boat that was sunk in the Battle of Palarm was also named Hallie, and I haven't been able to determine if this is just a coincidence, and if not where that name came from. That's just one of many things I still haven't figured out.

As for getting it featured, that's just a tactic that I use to provoke critiques when I get stuck on an article and I need feedback to improve it. I doubt this article, being about southern post civil war politics, will ever be passable because it will never be unbiased enough. But I too find the reconstruction period to be incredibly interesting, I like studying politics in chaos. So it gives me an endless amount of things to do to research the BB War deeper and deeper.

19-century military ranks

No, I can't find any good reference for what abbreviations were used in the 19th century. I am sure that the US Army's standard abbreviations were changed around the middle of the 20th century to all upper-case letters without a period, such as Capt. -> CAPT, Maj. -> MAJ, and so on. Perhaps you could find 19th-century military books on Google Books or elsewhere that could give you a some good examples. Sorry I can't provide more help. Happy editing! I worked it over more thoroughly. You might want to check "Eurka Springs" and see if that shouldn't be "Eureka". The sentence "The units were poorly equipped and outdated equipment" was not very clear, and you probably know better than I what exactly was meant. I converted m-d-y style dates to d-m-y style, starting from World War I to the end, as there was a mix of styles, and WP:DATE says that modern US military usage is d-m-y. They don't say what year we went to 'modern'. If you want any earlier dates converted, I have the tools. I feel that m-d-y is better for the Civil War era. Happy editing! • The 13th Arkansas Infantry Regiment article refers to the 15th Arkansas Infantry (Johnson's) (in the Battles Section) it is red-linked. Is that the same Infantry as the 15th Arkansas Infantry article? If they are the same then it can be linked directly. I fixed it. Numbering of Arkansas ACW regiments is tricky because there were so many duplicates. There were three (3) "15th Arkansas"s, four (4) if you count the Militia Regiment, so you really have to included the regimental commander it keep it all straight.

• With the "Organization" Section, I see you've put the people in charge of each section. Make sure that each Military rank is the same. For example "Lieutenant" maybe put as "Lt.", if another person has the same rank in another section it should be common to being consistent of such information throughout the article. • With the 3rd Regiment, Arkansas State Troops in the "Organization" section would like to have a couple more sources:

At the beginning of the war, the Arkansas Succession Convention created the Provisional Army of Arkansas. The Provisional Army was to consist of two divisions: the 1st Division in the western part of the state was to be commanded by Brigadier General Pearce, and the 2nd Division in the eastern half of the state, commanded by Major General James Yell.[SOURCE NEEDED HERE] The intent of the Secession Convention was to transfer these state troop regiments into Confederate service as quickly as possible, to avoid the cost of paying for a large state army.[SOURCE NEEDED HERE] The troops of the eastern division were transferred to the command of Brigadier General Hardee in July 1861, but the troops of the western division under Brigadier General Pearce were not transferred to Confederate service before they became engaged in the Battle of Wilson's Creek.[SOURCE NEEDED HERE] The unit was composed of the following volunteer companies:[3]

I didn't create this article, but I think it is pointing to a PDF File that indicates that a 1st Arkansas Soldier was award the Confederate equilivant of the Medal of Honor for the action at Nashville. I will move the citation somewhere else.
