  Born and raised in the Swedish suburb of Upplands Väsby, Carina Wretman spent her early teenage years as a competitive equestrian and won many championships in show jumping, eventing and pony gallop racing. She is the daughter of Anne-Cathrine Edelbrink and Börje Andersson.
  She was discovered when a friend brought her to an open-model casting call at Stockholms Gruppen, where she was entered in to a model competition and won runner-up. That brought her to Milan, Italy, where she was signed with Fashion Models.
  For almost two decades Carina traveled between the fashion capitals of London, Paris, Milan, Tokyo and New York. She was represented by City Models/Paris, Company Model Management  Michael Flutie, Paris/New York and Wilhelmina Models/New York.
  Carina's first modeling credits in Paris were an advertisement for L'Oreal hair products and a cover for Madame Figaro magazine, working with famous photographer Andre Rau. 
  Carina’s long and fruitful career includes working with photographers like Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Lindbergh, Aldo Fallai, Walter Chin, Ellen von Unwerth, Pamela Hanson, Victor Skrebneski and Fabrizio Gianni. Her work includes covers and photo editorial features in Vogue, Elle, Marie-Claire, Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. She has also been featured in advertisements for Clairol, Grand Marnier liquor, Nike, Cornsilk cosmetics, Bergdorf Goodman, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Victoria’s Secret and Tuscany Perfume by Estee Lauder.
  She has appeared in feature films, including the 
Robert Downey Jr. and Nicole Kidman
, where she appears in the opening scene, walking a leopard down the runway for a fashion show and a short film; -So what do you think? (2000).
