Social Leverage is an early stage venture capital firm headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition, the firm has offices in Coronado, California and in San Francisco, California.

Social Leverage specializes in investments in early stage technology companies. Since it’s founding in 2008, Social Leverage has backed entrepreneurs in more than 100 ventures including Ticketfly, Bitly, Techstars, Life360, StockTwits, TweetDeck, Assistly, AngelList, Robinhood, and Virgin Mega USA.

History

Social Leverage was formed in 2008 by Howard Lindzon and Tom Peterson. According to Lindzon, "social leverage is about leveraging our extensive network of industry relationships and expertise to help grow great companies and build great products.”[1]

In 2011, Chris Corriveau (CTO of MojoPages and former CTO of StockTwits) served as a technical advisor to Social Leverage Capital Fund I, LP.

In December 2014, Gary Benitt joined the firm as a general partner.[2]

In July 2015, Joseph Mahavuthivanij joined the firm as an event producer and analyst on the investment team.

Social Leverage produces Lindzonpalooza (started in 2007) and Stocktoberfest (started in 2012), annual conferences held in Coronado, California.

  • Lindzonpalooza (also known as Palooza) is a gathering of venture capitalists, angel investors, entrepreneurs, and limited partners.
  • Stocktoberfest gathers entrepreneurs, public company CEOs, venture capitalists, money managers, investors, and traders to discuss investment ideas and strategies.

Since 2008, Social Leverage has raised and invested capital with four venture funds: Social Leverage, LLC, Social Leverage Group, LLC, Social Leverage Capital Fund I, LP, and Social Leverage Capital Fund II, LP.
