Bohemian dialects (
interdialect known as Common Czech (obecná čeština),[4] which is now spoken throughout most of Bohemia. By the 1960s, regionally marked features of Bohemian Czech were largely restricted to dialects spoken on the fringes of the Czech-speaking area, and many were only used by older speakers.[5]
Southwestern Bohemian dialects
Southwestern Bohemian dialects (jihozapadočeská nářečí) were traditionally spoken south-west of a line running from Kralovice through Rokycany to Písek, and south of the area from Písek to the Moravian border,[6] thus including the cities of Plzeň and České Budějovice.[1]
