Ranjana Kaushal is an Indian

business journalist, formerly assistant editor of Outlook Business, one of the country's top-selling business magazines. She is a fellow of the Marjorie Deane Financial Journalism Foundation.[1]

Career

Kaushal's career in India specialised in covering the IT, pharmaceutical, real estate and banking sectors. She joined the Financial Express, based in Chandigarh, in 2002 as senior correspondent. In September 2005 she moved to the Outlook group to join the team launching Outlook Business.[3]

Two years later, she was recruited as special correspondent for Mail Today, a newspaper being launched as a joint venture [4] between the India Today Group and the British Daily Mail. [5]

Kaushal returned to Outlook Business in April 2010 to take on the role of assistant editor,

Hutchison Essar[8], and her story on the £10.7 billion sale of Zain's African telecom operation to India's Bharti Airtel

She moved to

FDi magazine, an analysis of India's prospects for maintaining inward investment [9] and a feature on Danish wind energy company Vestas[10]

From 2011 Kaushal has specialized in the energy sector, initially writing for Argus Media, then joining news and information provider Energy Intelligence in July 2011 to cover liquefied natural gas and other gas markets.[11] She calculates weekly spot LNG market prices that are used as a benchmark for traders in that sector.[12]
