Dynatrace® is a technology company that specializes in software intelligence products and services that deliver application performance management (APM), artificial intelligence for operations (AIOps), IT infrastructure monitoring (ITIM), digital experience management (DEM), and digital business analytics.

The Dynatrace Software Intelligence Platform uses artificial intelligence to discover, map, and monitor enterprise cloud environments, on-premises deployments, and hybrid cloud environments, and provides automated problem remediation.[2] The Dynatrace Software Intelligence Platform provides observability of the full solution stack, which simplifies cloud complexity and speeds organizations’ digital transformation to cloud-based architectures that use microservices running in containers on orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes.[3]

On August 1, 2019, Dynatrace completed its initial public offering (NYSE:DT).[4]

History

Dynatrace began on February 2, 2005 with the founding of dynaTrace Software GmbH[5] in Linz, Austria, and was part of the May 9, 2005 acquisition of Adlex, Inc. by Compuware.[6] On January 2, 2007 Compuware acquired Proxima Technology's Centauri Business Service Manager. After acquiring Gomez, Inc. on November 9, 2009[7] and dynaTrace Software July 1, 2011,[8] the product set was named Compuware APM. In 2014, the private equity firm Thoma Bravo took the company private, and the Compuware APM group was renamed Dynatrace.[9][10] Dynatrace established the Digital Performance Management category in late 2014.[11]

Dynatrace went public on August 1, 2019.[12]
