My (failed) RfA
Dear Pharaoh, thank you very much for participating and for asking me questions to which I utterly failed to respond. Good questions, though. Itsmejudith (talk) 12:06, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
RfA thankspam
Thank you for your participation in my recent RfA, which failed with 90/38/3; whether you supported, opposed or remained neutral.
Special thanks go out to Dougweller and Frank for nominating me, and I will try to take everyone's comments on board.
Thanks again for your participation. I am currently concentrating my efforts on the Wikification WikiProject . It's fun! Please visit the project and wikify a few articles to help clear the backlog. If you can recruit some more participants, then even better.
Apologies if you don't like RfA thankspam, this message was delivered by a bot which can't tell whether you want it or not. Feel free to remove it. Itsmejudith (talk), 22:51, 21 January 2009 (UTC) |
I created the page, Raymond Haija, that was deleted. I believe at this point it may not yet be a relevant page or hold enough notability after reading the notability requirements Lemert (talk) 04:23, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

RfA thanks
Thank you for the trust you placed in me by supporting my RfA (which passed and, apparently, I am now an admin!). I will do my best to continue to act in a way that is consistent with the policies of wikipedia as well with our common desire to build and perfect this repository of human knowledge; and can only hope that you never feel that your trust was misplaced. Thanks again! --Regent's Park (Rose Garden) 23:00, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Moved pages
Please can you use AWB or manually redirect pages after moving them. Eg, with Sneha. I had to go around editing over 100 articles changing Sneha to Sneha (actress). Universal Hero (talk) 13:03, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
My apologies ,I cannot use AWB from public connection due to restrictions in downloads .But did feel the move was necessary as there were so many Sneha.Thank you for correcting my error .my apologies again.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 17:43, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Alfie Patten
I have nominated Alfie Patten, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alfie Patten. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. copyvio and speedy
According to WP:CSD, this only applies "where there is no non-infringing content on the page worth saving" I removed the copyvio from Monumenta Nipponica. (& rewrote the rest for conciseness). If you come across any more articles of this sort on academic journals or the like, let me know & I will rewrite them. DGG (talk) 17:33, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks
Hi Pharoah, belated post holiday thanks for your support and nice comments in my RFA, which passed by an embarrassingly wide margin. There's a full glitzy Oscar style version of my acceptance speech here. WereSpielChequers 17:27, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
accusations of "vandalism"
Sir: I did not vandalize any page. I have multiple references and citations for my edit. In fact, I was adding a reference for an edit when my contribution was attacked by two parties. They continued to speak about one source I used while ignoring the other two. I am contributing on a common and well-known controversy in science and society. There is much documentation of it. If I am harassed or slandered or libelled while making genuine edits, I will complain. This encyclopedia was not intended to be a battlefield for sniper attacks. Any edits must stand the test of time and documentation. Persons who are allowing bias or lack of neutrality to color their edits are acting inappropriately. Thank you for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rbfitz0529 (talk • contribs) 05:39, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Blanking
Just to give you a heads up (as I didn't know this until someone told me), if someone gets their article tagged with a csd, and they blank the whole thing, we generally just put up {{db-blanked}} meaning that the author has blanked the page. -WarthogDemon 06:28, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Reverting my edit
For some reason, you left this message on my talk page and reverted one of my edits:
"Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page ChinesePod. "
Did you read the talk page? My edit was not "unconstructive." One user has been adding a POV section to the ChinesePod entry for days. Several of us have been debating it and reverting his edits. Please don't step into the middle of something when you haven't looked into what is actually taking place. Thanks. -- Ashe the Cyborg (talk) 14:48, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the support
I would like to thank you for coming out and participating in my Request for Adminship, which closed unsuccessfully at (48/8/6) based on my withdrawal. I withdrew because in my opinion I need to focus on problems with my content contributions before I can proceed with expanding my responsibilities. Overall I feel that the RfA has improved me as an editor and in turn some articles which in my eyes is successful. Thank you again for your support. Cheers and happy editing.--kelapstick (talk) 18:36, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Formatting Pictures
Hi there, and thanks for your welcome message. On the GPPAC page, I have uploaded the organisation's logo but am unable to figure out how to remove the text which appears above and below the image which contains information about pixels. I would really appreciate any guidance you can provide on how to get rid of this!!

I have been on Wikipedia for months now and have recently engaged problems with another user whom I'm almost certain is not an administrator.

2003 Port of Oakland dock protest
Pharaoh: I spotted this sad little article on vandalism patrol. I added the human rights box and made some quick changes to improve the article. I figured you may want to rate it, and make improvements as this is part of your project area. I know the incident was mentioned in a 2006 UN report (if I remember correctly), so it could be expanded nicely if you like. Thanks.--Yachtsman1 (talk) 07:22, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Daily-Update Publishers
I declined speedy as it wasn't clear that it was pure advertisement, and I try to be a bit more cautious on CSD. However, I feel it would be a reasonable candidate for AFD. Thanks! Plastikspork (talk) 23:35, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Mark page patrolled
Thanks for the help over at new page patrol. Just a heads up when you mark a page for CSD make sure you mark the page patrolled as well. So the rest of us on new page patrol can ignore the page. Whispering 08:49, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Periyar1973.jpg)
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
